It’s good to see the Jets-Patriots rivalry is alive and well.
In his first interview since the Super Bowl loss to the Giants, Pats QB Tom Brady took a playful poke at the Jets yesterday while appearing on Sports Radion 850 WEEI in Boston. It started with a reflection about the Super Bowl.
“It was really a great game,” Brady said. “I wish we would’ve played better at certain times, but [the Giants] made the plays and they deserved it.
And I have a lot of respect for that team because they work hard, and they have a lot of great leaders on that team. It’s kind of a blue-collar team. When you do lose a game, you at least want to lose to guys you respect. And I certainly respect those guys. I don’t respect everybody, but I do respect the Giants.”
The host asked him to name a team he doesn’t respect.
“There’s four letters in their name,” Brady replied.
“Those green guys?” the host asked.
“Yeah, exactly,” Gisele Bundchen’s boyfriend said. |
This late in the off-season (yet still a ways from the new season), off the football field, and saying you have no respect for a franchise.
Philip Rivers doesn't look so bad now does he?

| Id still take Brady over Rivers and Brady has three rings to back it up.And they are rival teams.

| saying you don't respect someone is different than being a rival -- and you NEVER talk off the field. That's just classless.
And I'm not talking about on-field performance. Everyone rags on PR when he really doesn't do anything (the trash talking is actually pretty lame as trash talking goes), while people the media tries to glorify (Brady & to a less extent, Manning) are worse in their behavior (you wouldn't have to look far on youtube to find Manning chewing the hell out of Jeff Saturday, yet LT getting up from the bench when PR sits down is front-line news...the media just had it out for SD last season and everyone bought into their crap).

The thing that bothers me about Tom Brady is that he talks smack in the offseason when you can't say anything back. At least Phillip Rivers does his during the season/in games instead of bein a baby and talking in the offseason after an amazing season when their is nothing other teams can say back because they have them in the stat book.
